Hands Across The Sand

The annual Hands Across the Sand community action event partnering with Friends of Clayoquot Action on July 14th was a huge success. 60 people held hands across Cox Bay to take a stand for the health of people and the planet, working to end the era of fossil fuels, and support a just transition for all people. Thank you to Tribal Park Guardians for being there to join us in solidarity.

On July 13th a screening of “Warrior Spirit” was hosted at The General Store. This evening culminated with an inspirational Q + A with Will George of Tsleil-Waututh Nation. Will provided a behind the scene look on his experience facing Canada’s leaders, through his activism, to stop environmental threats such as TMX on his traditional territory. Thank you to Will George for making the trip to Tofino to share his story, and for bringing his “Protect The Inlet” banner and his voice to our community action event on Cox Bay.
